Policies & Procedures

Stepping Stones Child Care Centre (ACT) Pty Ltd has developed policies and procedures as they are essential to ensuring that all families, staff, children and management have the same understanding and expectations about what happens within the service and provides a record of accountability for certain decisions made by staff and management.

We ensure our policies are effective, current, clearly written and easily accessible to all families, staff and children as they are used to support daily practices and decision making.

Our policies include information that explains what procedures must occur within the service and why, as well as clear guidelines about how the policy will be implemented and followed within daily practice.

Policies are also important to ensure staff are informed of service procedures and ensure consistency in the implementation of practices and why practices are necessary.

Policies and procedures help to protect children, families, staff, and management and assists in facilitating clear, two-way communication between services and families.

Policies and procedures are reviewed at least annually or updated as required to ensure they reflect current information and requirements. Policies and procedures are reviewed in consultation with parent committee members, staff, management, recognised health and safety authorities or regulation bodies to ensure they accommodate and are reflective of the needs of current families, children and staff and best practice guidelines.
